Calvin vs. Darwin: Anniversaries, Origins, Worldviews

If you missed the lecture, you may listen or download the audio from our SermonAudio.com site.

The video is also available compliments of Covenant PRC via YouTube and on this page below.

2009 is both the 500th anniversary of the birth of the French Reformer, John Calvin, and the 200th anniversary of the English evolutionist, Charles Darwin.

For Darwin, man's origins lie in a primordial slime pool, and we have monkeys for our forefathers. For Calvin, man was created in the image of God, and we know our Creator in the Lord Jesus Christ. These two radically different views of man's origins shape two radically different views of ourselves, the world and God.

Rev. Angus Stewart of the Covenant Protestant Reformed Church (CPRC) in Ballymena addressed these issues historically, morally, biblically and theologically in a special lecture in Grandville, MI on August 12, 2009, entitled "Calvin versus Darwin: Anniversaries, Origins and Worldviews".

What does God's Word teach and what is the calling of today's church? Please check back soon to download the lecture to hear this timely message. CDs, DVDs, and free pamphlets are available upon request.

The Protestant Reformed Theological Seminary also hosted a conference commemorating the 500th anniversary of John Calvin. Visit 500yearsofcalvin.org.
